Nominees for the Sportsmanship Award were read and voted on at the Banquet 3/17. The winner of the Award will be presented at the August Show. The winner will not know until that date who won the Award. I have been asked to print the nominator’s reasons for nominating, and of course who was nominated. The nominators were not revealed.
Read for Patty Anderson. I would like to nominate Patty Anderson for the 2010 Sportsmanship Award. Patty has worked with the club for many years and has contributed her time and energy in many ways over the years. She is very pleasant to work with and offers positive solutions to problem solving without killing the messenger. She has also shown her Borzoi for many years and I have never seen her upset with a Judge’s selection in the ring. She is as gracious when she loses as when she wins. I have learned much and am a better person for knowing Patty.
Read for Jan Leikam. I know that the individual I would like to nominate is somewhat controver-sial with some Club members, but the person I know would do anything for SKC and has over the years …. From serving as President, Treasurer, and who else know what else to countless years as ei-ther the January or August Show Chairman.
Read for Rusty Kingery. Rusty has assumed a variety of leadership roles within the club, most no-tably Chief Ring Steward and V. President. Her dedication to the Sammamish KC and its role in the sport of purebred dogs in the Puget Sound area has been unwavering. Regardless of the task or the challenges involved, Rusty handles her responsibilities with grace, efficiency and good humor. Her competence and kindness are an extraordinary asset to our club as well as all who participate in our shows. Rusty is the true embodiment of someone whose priorities are always motivated by what is best for the sport and what is best for the dogs.
