President Rusty Kingery called the meeting to order at 7:30pm. In attendance: Laura Young, Holly Berman, Rusty Kingery, Dave Kingery, Jackie Blumenstetter, Jan Leikam, Geri Orta, Bo Gloster, Patty Anderson, Dee Carlson.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as printed in the Barker.
President’s Report: The upcoming vote on the C A R donation
Treasurer’s Report: Patty reported that we have the money for the Puyallup deposit, taken care of. Club dues request post cards to go out shortly. Club dues are not tax deductible.
Nominating Committee: The slate for nominations for 2013, was read and accepted. There were no new nominations from the floor. The final vote will be at the next meeting December 5, 2012.
January 2013 Show: Rusty called for Ring Stewards for the January show. Judges dinner will be on Saturday, January 12, 2013, drinks at 7 pm and dinner at 7:30 pm. All participating clubs will at-tend this one dinner. It will be at the Holiday Inn on Central in Kent. Send your RSVPs to Barbara Underwood (Kingery) firstname.lastname@example.org. SKC show to be on Sunday the 13 of January 2013. The Rhodesian Ridgeback, Springer Spaniel and Kuvasz clubs will have supported entries.
Membership Committee: No report
New business: Discussion on the Companion Animal Recovery donation for storm Sandy support. Jan Leikam moved that the club send a donation of $500 to support American Red Cross & $500 to support CAR. The motion was seconded. There was discussion and the members unanimously voted against it. Patty moved to send $1000 to support efforts to the rescue organization CAR to assist in animal rescue. The discussion was that SKC is a dog club and there will be many public donations for human assistance and canine assistance may have a greater need. The motion was seconded by Jackie and passed unanimously.
Old Business: Discussion on what to do about damaged club canopies. We will need a work party. The ground will be too wet to pull the club trailer out of the pasture until spring. We will need a dry covered area and some strong bodies to assist with putting them up so that we can see what our needs will be to fix and repair canopies before the August show. We may need a different vehicle to haul the trailer off the pasture. The canopies are Easy-Ups (brand name)
Next Meeting: Will be December 5, 2012 at Angelo’s in Bellevue. Holiday party gift exchange with a $20 maximum. Starts at 6:00pm Drinks and Dinner at 6:30.

For the Good of the Order: Bo Gloster talked about the Pet Expo last month in Puyallup. There were in his estimate upwards of 20,000 people in attendance. It is a good opportunity to educate. All pets were welcome. Entry is free to non-vendor exhibitors. To attend you must bring proof of current rabies & pets must be neutered. There will be another Pet Expo in Seattle on April 5, ,2013.
The AKC Tribute to the Search and Rescue Dogs DVD video. was presented.
