President Rusty Kingery called the meeting to order at 7:31pm. In attendance: Jan Leikam, Rusty & Dave Kingery, Dee Carlson, Michelle Brown, Tonya Gisselberg, Sandee Isaacson, Geri Orta, Bo Gloster, and guest Jenny Merrit.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved as printed in the Barker.
Presidents report: Rusty read a letter from Rick Beren’s inviting us to put on mock dog show in Arlington, at the President Elementary School on June 22nd, 2011 from 9:30am -12:30pm. Rusty will send an email to the club members with the information. Rusty introduced to the club a prospective new member, Jenny Merrit.
Secretary’s report: none.
Treasurer’s report: None. Patty Anderson was not present.
August show - Dee asked if The Humane Society could sell their own merchandise at the show. Jan said she needed to find out exactly what they were going to sell. Jan said we have the contracts for 2011, 2012 and 2013. She reported that we have the grounds reserved for 2 extra days, Wednesday and Monday so if there is any club that would like to use these days for a match or specialty then they could.
Benevolence - Jan reported that Patty said we have no more interest income so we do not have any more money to give away currently.
AKC Delegate report - Bo reported that the delegate meeting has been changed to Sunday and Monday this month. There will also be a presentation meeting held on June 24th to realign some of the breeds. There is discussion of a new type of match called an Open Show which would open up the sport to new people. Championship points would not be earned at an Open Show and must not be attached to any dog show within 100 miles of it. Bo also reported that the Gazette no longer be a printed magazine, but will be available on the AKC website. The people who subscribe will receive Family Dog Magazine until the end of their subscription date. The AKC will have a puppy class 4-6 months at the August show on Saturday the 27th.
Standing Rules - The proposed changes were reviewed. They will be published and sent out. Nancy Warfield was not present.
Membership: Michelle read the application for new member Jenny Marriott.
Unfinished Business: none.
New Business: Bo reported that we have received the $200 renewal notice for CHF. The request will be sent to the Treasurer so it can get paid. A report from the Canine Health Foundation was given to the secretary. There will be July potluck picnic at Marymoor Park. Sandwiches will be provided. There is a judges dinner on August 27th.
Next Meeting: July 13th, 2011 at Mary Moor Park.
